Home-based learning is managed and directed by parents and uses many different methods in many environments. Some resources are available to parents free of charge through the state's public education system, and many organizations exist to support parents who choose this educational option.

Washington Homeschool Organization (WHO)
The Washington Homeschool Organization (WHO) is a statewide, non-profit membership organization. Its mission is to serve the diverse interests of home-based education in Washington State. WHO is nonpartisan, nonsectarian, and non discriminating in its views of homeschooling and participation in its activities.

Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction: Home-Based Instruction
Washington state law recognizes the desire of some parents to seek a home-based instruction for their children. OSPI offers technical assistance to school districts that are working with parents seeking to exercise this educational right.

Washington Association of Teaching Christian Homes (WATCH)
WATCH is a service-oriented ministry dedicated to the strengthening of homeschooling families.

Family Learning Organization (FLO)
FLO’s purposes are to advocate for home-based education, to facilitate the encouragement of homeschooling families, to help preserve the freedom of parents to educate their children, and to serve as a means of communication and networking. Through the organization, homeschooling families can network with other more experienced parents. Philosophically, it is inclusive and non-judgmental.

Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA)
Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms.
